You can delete your Busyroo account and the personal information linked to it at any time. The fastest way is inside the app; if you no longer have access to the app or the account, email us and we will handle the deletion for you.

Option 1 — Delete in the app

  1. Open the Busyroo app and sign in.
  2. Go to the Me tab (bottom-right).
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is soft-deleted immediately — you will be signed out and can no longer sign back in with the same Apple or Google identity. The underlying records are purged within 30 days.

Option 2 — Email us

If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to the device, or cannot sign in, email info@busyroo.com.au with the subject line “Delete my account” from the email address linked to your account, or include enough detail for us to identify your records (for example, the email address you used to send an enquiry).

We aim to confirm the deletion by email within 30 days.

What gets deleted

  • Your account record (name, email, Firebase user ID, sign-in provider)
  • Your chat threads and messages — both your outbound enquiries and provider replies
  • Your reviews, favourites, and school subscriptions
  • Your enquiry records (parent name, email, message, child age and school)
  • Push notification tokens registered to your device
  • Onboarding profile (selected school, suburbs, child age, optional gender)
  • Analytics events keyed to your device ID

What we may retain

  • Aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot be tied back to you (for example, “this many enquiries were sent in May 2026”).
  • Records we are legally required to keep — only what Australian law requires, for as long as it requires (for example, dispute resolution or fraud investigation).
  • Encrypted backups — deleted data may persist in routine encrypted database backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten in normal rotation.

What we cannot delete on your behalf

When you send an enquiry, the provider receives your account name and message text by email, and becomes a separate data controller for that information. To request deletion of what a provider holds, please contact the provider directly.

Delete specific data without deleting your account

You don’t have to close your account to remove individual records. Most things can be removed directly in the app while you stay signed in:

  • A chat thread — open the thread and tap the trash icon in the header. The thread and all messages are removed.
  • A review — tap your review on the provider’s listing and choose Edit or Delete.
  • A favourite — tap the heart on the provider again, or open Me → Favourites and remove it there.
  • A school subscription — open the school page and toggle Subscribe off.
  • A child’s profile — Me tab → tap the child’s school card → Remove (available once you have more than one child on the account).
  • Push notifications — iOS or Android Settings → Busyroo → Notifications, or unsubscribe from a specific school inside the app.

If you need to remove something that isn’t covered by the in-app controls — for example, a specific enquiry record, your analytics events, or a parent recommendation you submitted — email info@busyroo.com.au with the subject line “Delete specific data”. Tell us which records you’d like removed and the account email (or the email address you used to send an enquiry, if you don’t have an account). We’ll confirm the deletion by email within 30 days and your account will stay active.

Just want to remove data from this device?

Uninstalling the Busyroo app erases the device ID and locally cached data (selected school, favourites, in-flight enquiry drafts) without deleting your account. Sign in on a new device and your account data is restored.
